If you're missing the tank, or have a hard time getting here with it, stockpile grenades, use the lifter to get level and spam them when able to inflict massive damage quickly. There are three lifters that I recommend avoiding unless need be to dodge rockets. You should still have your tank at this point so fire upward and dodge the projectiles as they come. The second boss, is the Hairbuster Riberts,a heavy bomber. Even without the tank, the rounds fired from the Mini-Bata are slow and you have a lot of room to maneuver so you shouldn't have any issues with it. If you're quick enough, you can defeat it without letting it fire more than a single round.
